5) Babies

We have two amazing babies in our family here on planet Earth, and they’re so wonderful and snuggable and delicious that we sometimes have to restrain ourselves from eating them.

Coleton Samuel Ryan was born on February 14th, 2012 to one of the most selfless people we have ever met, his birth mommy. I got to hold her hand as she labored his beautiful little body into the world…and I got to SEE HIM be born people! It was one of the most surreal, wonderful experiences of my life. We took him home from the hospital two days later and he has been with us ever since.

Although he started out as a tiny little 6lb 3oz peanut, he has grown into a 35lb super-duper big brother who our friends think we feed bionic food and milk. He is the size of a 3 year old! Coleton is a big sweetheart (most of the time, I mean, he is two) and he loves his little sissy so crazy much! We try not to spoil the heck out of him, even though we waited three very long years for him.

He is our miracle boy, and we would go through everything we went through again in a heartbeat before we would live any lifetime without him.

Our miracle girl came about 13 months later. Annabelle Hope miraculously defied the odds and joined our family through, well…biologically after too many miscarriages. God sustained every beautiful and terrifying day of her 40 week pregnancy–to the day, and AB entered the world on April 4th, 2013 at 12:30am. On that spring day, tears were plentiful and the pain of our past felt so very far away.IMG_1775

Beauty from ashes. There is no other way to describe how our family came to be.

We believe God has huge plans for these miracle babies, who we have been entrusted with. My goodness this parenting business isn’t for sissies. We’re still learning and growing everyday. Our biggest prayer for Coleton and Annabelle is that they would fall in love with Christ at an early age, and that He would use them in mighty ways for his kingdom and glory.

We are so excited to see what God has in store for our family in the future…so …hopefully someday this will be continued….
